RTL AdAlliance is the combination of three companies: RTL AdConnect, G+J iIMS and the media and sales division of smartclip. Bertelsmann and RTL Group are parent companies of the three.

RTL AdConnect is the international sales house of RTL Group. It provides international advertisers with simplified access to a global premium and brand-safe total video inventory ensuring that the right media decisions are made for pan-European campaigns. Thanks to its media partners from RTL Group and beyond, RTL AdConnect reaches around 165 million potential consumers in Europe every day. RTL AdConnect offers exclusive solutions around high-quality content across an extensive portfolio of media partners consisting of more than 150 TV channels, 300 digital platforms, and 40 radio stations in 12 countries. With 360-degree solutions, RTL AdConnect supports brands every step of the way, offering full support from start to finish, ensuring high reach, deep market insights, and cross-screen solutions.

G+J iIMS, is a German-based international sales and integrated company of G&J Gmbh in Germany. It combines 300 leading media brands in print, online, mobile + TV and more than 110 million readers and 500 million Page Impressions in Europe from e.g., Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, and Italy. It provides high-end target groups and content-based ideas for global or country-specific solutions. It also provides a strong premium programmatic offer consisting of high-quality digital inventory in premium segments.

Smartclip is a company dedicated to shaping the future of video advertising by delivering advanced online video and TV advertising solutions. Smartclip’s proprietary technology and services help brands on all devices and enable broadcasters and publishers to monetize their content both efficiently and effectively. To deliver innovative video ad experiences, smartclip offers their expertise on in-stream, out-stream, connected and addressable TV as well as gaming. As a subsidiary of RTL Deutschland, smartclip is part of RTL Group, Europe’s leading free-to-air broadcaster group. Next to their headquarter in Hamburg, Smartclip has other offices in Berlin, Munich, Dusseldorf, Gutersloh, Stockholm, Oslo, Helsinki, Amsterdam, Milan, and Rome. Smartclip will split, as its media division is joining RTL, while smartclip tech will become an independent ad tech company.

What is the relationship between RTL AdAlliance and RTL Group?

RTL AdAlliance is a new unit which is part of the RTL Group. The group announced its decision in February to combine its fully owned businesses RTL AdConnect, G+J iIMS and the media division of smartclip to create an international advertising sales champion.

The creation of RTL AdAlliance follows RTL Group’s strategy to develop its international activities to create an alternative to digital giants and consolidate international ad sales under one roof. We believe in a growth opportunity for an international media sales house by bringing all three companies together and creating a unique one-stop shop that answers the rising demand.
