It's the most wonderful time of the year: Your Holiday Watchlist!
We are getting ready for the holiday season and how better to indulge and get into the spirit than with a hot chocolate, a blanket and some good wholesome movies to watch with your loved ones. From classics to guilty pleasures, you can find your fix this season on the big screen right in your living rooms.
Here’s a little guide from RTL AdAlliance what to watch this holiday season.
France - M6+
In France, M6 is known for its great display of cozy holiday movies. This year, they prepared a little advent treat for us all. Each day, we open a little door of our advent’s calendars, the streaming platform reveals a new Christmas movie for you to watch. So far, we have revealed: Marions-les pour Noel, le festival de Noel, and Les enfants de Noel. Keep checking for new movie inspirations.
Germany – RTL+ & VOX
I don’t think any of us living in Germany have had a Christmas without the infamous “3 Nüsse für Aschenbrödel”. However, this guide would like to bring back another classic for the holiday season: Sissi. We have loved the new series by RTL+, but sometimes, it is nice to go back to the films that started it all. And who does not love to watch Romy Schneider glide around in enormous dresses?
If you feel more like something recent and more action driven, we’ve got you covered too. The anniversary season of “Die Höhle der Löwen” (German version of Dragon’s Den) has only just come to an end and fans can already look forward to another Christmas special. On Tuesday, December 10th, VOX will be showing “Die Höhle der Löwen - Endlich Weihnachten” at 20:15.
Italy – RAI
"Natale e Quale" is the perfect holiday treat on RAI, bringing the magic of Christmas to your screen. Hosted by the ever-charming Carlo Conti, this special edition of “Tale e Quale Show” features beloved celebrities transforming into iconic singers to perform timeless Christmas classics. The 2023 special, aired on December 17th, was dedicated to the Telethon Foundation, adding a heartwarming touch of charity to the festive fun.
ITV - England
“The 1% club” with Lee Mack has been confirmed to return to your TV screens for the ITV holiday season programme. Viewers can enjoy Lee Mack’s hilarious commentary as contestants navigate through increasingly difficult questions. This festive edition promises plenty of laughs and surprises, making it an ideal choice for family gatherings during the holidays2. Whether you’re a trivia buff or just looking for some light-hearted entertainment, “The 1% Club” is sure to bring joy and excitement to your holiday celebrations.
Whatever you celebrate during this festive season, we hope your TV screen will be part of your festive plans. We are sending holiday greetings and are wishing you all a cozy time in December.
